How do I become a roofer? 
It’s as easy as applying for a roofing job with a reputable company! If you’re willing to put in effort to learn about roofing systems, tools, installation best practices, repair techniques, and general construction, you’ll make a great addition to a roofing crew.
Once you’re talking to companies you want to work for, it’ll be important to discuss any related experience and your work ethic. If companies are willing to invest resources to train you to become a roofing professional, they want to know that they’ll have your work commitment.
What training do roofers need?
Many roofers start their apprenticeship without any formal knowledge. Most beginner roofers gain education with on the job training!
If you’re looking to get formalized training, vocational, aka trade or technical, school is a great option. Depending on the school, there may not be a roofing specific route. However, a general construction related program will set you up for success as a roofer.
Many high schools offer the opportunity to attend vocational schools part time while finishing your diploma.
Do I need to be physically fit to be a roofer?
Roofing is manual work. It’ll be important to have good balance and be in proper physical shape! Don’t fret if you don’t consider yourself to be in the best shape. Your hands-on training will prepare you for full-time roof work! You’ll get a better understanding of the energy your day to day will require.
